Ilios Floor Lamp

A round piece of opaline glass balances between two long metal rods. Ilios is an elegant standing lamp for accent lighting in situations in which calm, not overly bright light is required. A red, fluorescent isolation wedge at the lower end of the rods provides a minimal touch of color.

Ilios is a design classic from the early 1980s, when low-voltage halogen bulbs first came into use. A secondary voltage of just 12 volts makes it possible to do without cables and to achieve a uniquely light appearance. The opaline glass provides soft, pleasant light. The halogen bulb casts unfiltered light backwards against the wall, so the room is also illuminated indirectly.
